What We Do:

The Baird House Bed and Breakfast in Valle Crucis, NC offers excellent Blue Ridge Parkway lodging accommodations on the Watauga River. This historic bed and breakfast offers seven unique guest each with wonderful amenities. Several rooms offer wood burning or gas log fireplaces, comfortable sitting rooms, and romantic whirlpool tubs, and some also include wrap-around patios and wet bars. Each room has a private bath, queen size beds with fluffy down comforters, and unique decorations including period pieces and antiques. Guests are served a delicious hot breakfast every morning, as well as afternoon refreshments, and endless cookie jar, and teas, coffees, hot cocoa, and cold beverages are available 24 hours a day as well. A movie library and wireless Internet are also available for indoor entertainment.
Enjoy the romantic serenity of our stone patios, or relax in a hammock amongst the Cedar trees. We also offer a firepit for guest use, or stroll and around and explore the 12 acre grounds including a barn and brick silo.
The Watauga River runs through the front yard, offering many guest activities. Sit on one of the large rocks and soak up the Blue Ridge Parkway sunshine, or simply sit on the banks and soak your feet while watching the wildlife. More active guests can fly fish or enjoy a tube ride down the river.

While in the area, be sure to explore the many options for antiquing, shopping, art galleries, dining, visiting historical sites or museums, and wine tasting or theatre. Outdoor activities include skiing, horseback riding, hiking, biking, fishing, boating on Watauga Lake, or taking in a round of golf.
